Domaine Le Pré Vert - Red Coccolith 2021

Le Pré Vert is located in Razac-de-Saussignac, in the Dordogne in the South West of France. The estate has been managed since 2017 by Yasuko and Guillaume Jacquemin . The 9-hectare vineyard is certified organic , with biodynamic principles. Their philosophy is to limit inputs to the vineyard and the winery, with minimal intervention methods. In the vineyard, they sow green manures (broad beans, red clover, cereals) and opt for natural mowing during the growing season with a flock of sheep. To boost biodiversity, they also planted hedges and fruit trees around the plots of vines.

Coccolith Rouge is a blend of almost equal parts Merlot and Sauvignon Blanc . The grapes from the 2021 harvest are co-macerated together for about 4 days then pressed and aged in vats until bottling.
