SANTA TERESA 1796 - 40%
Hacienda Santa Teresa is located in the mountainous valley of Aragua , Venezuela . Founded in 1796, the estate grew coffee, cocoa and sugar cane. In 1830, a young German merchant, Gustav Julius Vollmer , arrived in Venezuela and met a revolutionary woman named Panchita Rivas. The Vollmer family, their descendants, still run Santa Teresa today.
To commemorate the bicentenary of the Hacienda in 1996, Alberto Vollmer Herrera, a member of the 4th generation of the family, challenged the company to develop a rum capable of exploiting all its mastery acquired during the first 200 years. . Passed down from Maestro to Maestro, thanks to the Soléra method, all bottles of Santa Teresa 1796 contain juice from the very first barrel of 1796, the original cask, which has never been emptied. Indeed each time a bottle is drawn, the cask is filled with a slightly younger rum. And this is repeated on every bottle of Santa Teresa 1796.
