Domaine Philippe Tessier - The Point of the Day 2020
Domaine Philippe Tessier is located in Cheverny, in the Loire Valley . The 26-hectare family estate covers the Cheverny and Cour-Cheverny appellation areas. Philippe Tessier took over the estate in 1981 which his father Roger created in 1961. In February 2020, Simon, Philippe's son took over the management of the estate. The vineyard has been certified in organic farming since 1998. In the vines, no chemical input is used to keep the soil alive with a numerous and varied flora and microbial fauna. In the cellar, vinification is carried out without technical artifice: no yeasting, enzyming or chemical correction.
Le Point du Jour is a blend of Pinot Noir (80%) and Gamay (20%) whose vines are around 40 years old. Part of the harvest (80%) is kept in whole bunches, the aging is carried out in vats (50%) and in barrels (50%) .
