Pig's Nose - The Islay Pig - Islay Casks Finish - 43%
Pig's Nose is a brand of Scottish blend owned since 2016 by the family business Ian Macleod . Pig's Nose was first bottled in 1977, as a 4-year-old blend, by a farmer and pub manager to join his predecessor, Sheep Dip, which was his house brand. The pub was in Oldbury on Severn, and as the small business grew he began supplying Fortnum & Mason (a department store luxury goods company located in central London) and expanded into the US, Canadian and New Zealand markets. Pig's Nose, with its partner Sheep Dip, was eventually taken over by Invergordon Distillers in 1993, which became a branch of Whyte & Mackay. In 2005, the brands left Whyte & Mackay with Alex Nicol , then chief operating officer, who set up Spencerfield Spirits Company in Fife with his wife, Jane. Pig's Nose and Sheep Dip continued to be produced by the master blender of Whyte & Mackay, Richard Paterson, until Spencerfield Spirits was acquired by Ian Macleod Distillers in late 2016.
