Maison Mounicq was founded in 2017 by Cédrik Nadé , in Bordeaux . He grew up in Fronsac, in a small family winery. He uses grapes from the Bordeaux region to produce spirits.

The Gin Avem – Botaurus was created in collaboration with Stéphane Allender, the founder of the Tame Spirits Distillery. The first distillation is carried out with the four grape varieties used for vodka: Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Sémillon. During the second distillation, only the juniper berries (essential to produce Gin) are distilled. The third distillation includes aromatic plants grown in aquaponics in Gironde: nasturtiums, parsley and rosebuds . Finally, these three distilled liquids are put together. This micro-production is limited to 1,116 bottles .
