EGIAZKI - Patxaran - Aniseed Sloe Liqueur - 25%
Egiazki produces Basque spirits in Saint Pée sur Nivelle, in the Basque Country . The company was founded by twins Camille and Benjamin Fourt Arteaga . In order to fully control their production, they planted 825 blackthorn trees in Navarre to produce Patxaran Egiazki. Quickly, they decide to become specialists in Basque liqueurs by playing on tradition and modernity. Between researching recipes and local producers, they are gradually expanding their range by now producing Manzana, Patxaka, Jinkoa and Menta.
The Patxaran originates from Navarre in the Southern Basque Country. It owes its name to the Basque term “Basarana” which means wild plum. Originally, this liquor was consumed in the family setting where each house had its own recipe. This recipe is made from the maceration of wild sloes in aniseed alcohol called "anisette". The anisette is mixed with the sloes in stainless steel tanks. The whole will then be macerated between 5 and 10 months depending on the progress of the maceration.
