Silent Pool Gin - 43%
Silent Pool Distillers is a distillery located in Surrey, England . It was founded in 2013 by a group of friends on the banks of the legendary and mystical Silent Pool; King John allegedly kidnapped a lumberjack's daughter who was forced to dive into deep waters and drown. According to legend, the girl can be seen at midnight. A vintage wood-fired steam boiler has been restored to power the hand-built copper still, manufactured for Silent Pool Distillers by the Arnold Holstein Company in Germany. The distillery's location is full of local ingredients like chamomile and elderflower which grow in abundance around Silent Pool, as well as roses and lavender which border Albury village. Silent Pool Distillers is managed sustainably : use of solar panels, boiler powered by vegetable oil, recycling of waste and bottles into candles, etc.
Silent Pool Gin contains 24 botanicals which are first macerated to obtain essential oils which form the base of the gin. These botanicals are then steam infused and infused with the same method as a tea bag. The whole thing is distilled with honey from the neighboring hive, added directly to the still.
