Domaine Mann - La Lluna - Pinot Noir 2021
Domaine Mann is located in Eguisheim, in Alsace . It belongs to Jean-Louis and Fabienne Mann , each from a family of winegrowers. Their second son, Sébastien , joined the estate in 2009 after obtaining a BTS in Viticulture and Oenology and various experiences around the world. The estate today has 12 hectares of vines, certified in organic farming , including two grand cru vineyards: Pfersigberg and Eichberg.
The grapes are harvested manually and sorted in the vineyard. Each grape variety ripens differently, the harvest is spread over 5 weeks. The vintages come from plot vinifications, defined by their locality name. The grapes are pressed slowly then the selected juices are decanted naturally for around 24 hours. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats for white wines , and in 223 liter oak barrels for red wines . It evolves to the rhythm of the seasons and these lunar cycles. The wines are then left to age on the lees for approximately 10 months. Most wines are stored for 2 years before being marketed.
La Lluna is a blend of Pinot Noir vines from the “Chemin de Soleil” and “Chemin de Pierre” vintages.
Grape variety: 100% Pinot Noir
