Domaine Clusel Roch - Traboules White 2022
Maison Clusel-Roch is located in Ampuis , in the Rhône Valley . The estate was created in the 1950s by René and Joséphine Clusel , who, like many Ampuis farmers, cultivate vegetables, fruit trees and Côte-Rôtie vines. Their son Gilbert joins the family estate and rehabilitates old abandoned vines. When René Clusel retired, the estate had 3.5 hectares of vines. It was at this time that fruit and vegetable production was abandoned. The 1990s saw a lot of development and then in the 2000s, the family obtained certification in organic farming . Today, and since 2009, Guillaume Clusel (the son of Gilbert and Brigitte) has managed the estate. It was he who introduced the third appellation of Lyonnais, the AOC of Coteaux du Lyonnais . He cultivates in three appellations: Côte-Rôtie, Condrieu and Coteaux du Lyonnais.
Traboules Blanc is made from Chardonnay aged around 20 years. The harvest is done by hand. Careful sorting is carried out in the vineyard by the harvesters. Arriving at the cellar, the grapes are pressed then settled in the cold. Fermentation is done in stainless steel vats , always with native yeasts. The malolactics are done one after the other. Aging lasts 6 months , in stainless steel vats.
Grape variety: 100% Chardonnay
