Caorunn Blood Orange - Gin - 41.8%
The Balmenach Distillery is located near Cromdale , in the Scottish Highlands , in the heart of the Cairngorm National Park . It mainly produces Caorunn Gin . Caorunn is the Gaelic word for Rowan Berry , a Celtic botanical that is at the heart of the Gin recipe. Caorunn is a small batch quadruple distilled Scottish Gin designed by one man, Simon Buley . It uses only the finest neutral base spirit made from grain, pure Scottish water and 11 botanical ingredients. Wild and foraged plants in the Highlands include Bog Myrtle, Heather, Blush Apple and Dandelion Leaf . They are added to the traditional plants used to make Gin: juniper berries, coriander seeds, orange and lemon peels, angelica root and cassia bark .
Caorunn Blood Orange is handcrafted by infusing 5 locally harvested Celtic botanicals and 6 traditional gin botanicals in their “Copper Berry Chamber”; a copper still that removes sulfur and unwanted compounds. It is enriched by the addition of blood orange and chili pepper infusion.
