Noelia Ricci - Il Sangiovese 2022
Noelia Ricci is a project born in 2010 within Tenuta Pandolfa , an estate located in Predappio in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy . In the 1950s, Giuseppe Ricci undertook renovation work on the estate, in which renowned local artists participated. He rethinks agricultural production by purchasing two adjacent farms and planting vines. When he died in 1980, it was his daughter Noelia, from whom the entire project takes its name, who was the first to understand the potential of these hillsides. Pandolfa is still owned by Ricci's niece, Paola Piscopo, and today it is one of the sons, Marco Cirese , who has taken over the estate. Noelia Ricci is a tribute to classic style, with a contemporary look: respecting the natural inclination of this land and returning to the origins of making Sangiovese by the farmers of Romagna.
Il Sangiovese is made from Sangiovese grown on limestone and clay terroir at 250-300 meters above sea level. The different Sangiovese clones are harvested and vinified separately. Fermentation occurs spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel vats. Maceration is gentle and lasts 18 days. The wine is aged for 6 months in stainless steel vats (70%) and concrete vats (30%), followed by 6 months in bottle .
Grape variety: 100% Sangiovese
