Château HAUT-BATAILLEY 2015
Château Haut-Batailley is located in Pauillac , Bordeaux . It is one of 18 Châteaux with Fifth Grand Cru Classé status, awarded by the 1855 classification. The Château was formerly part of the larger Château Batailley. It was purchased in 1932 by brothers François and Marcel Borie, who divided it in two in 1942 to avoid succession conflicts. François took the smaller property which did not include the physical castle and named the estate Haut-Batailley. He expanded the estate by purchasing vineyards. Château Haut-Batailley now has 22 hectares of vines planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc blended in the final vintage but planted in smaller proportions. Since 2017, the Château has belonged to the Cazes family , firmly anchored in the Médoc landscape for several generations.
Château Haut-Batailley 2015 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (72%) and Merlot (28%) . The harvest is manual, the aging takes place for around 18 months , entirely in barrels, 60% of which are new.
