Château La Colombière - The Frontons Flingueurs 2023
Château La Colombière is located on the historic terroirs of Villaudric, in the Fronton appellation in the South-West . In 1970, Jean-René Chabanon built his winery, planted vines and created the estate in the Bellouguet area after training with Jules Chauvet. In 1984, François de Driésen bought the estate and strengthened the identity of his wines around the Négrette grape variety. In the early 2000s, his daughter Diane and her husband Philippe Cauvin took over the estate, converted the estate to organic farming with certified biodynamic practices. They moved towards plot-by-plot vinifications and vintages made entirely from Négrette. They discovered pre-phylloxera strains of the Bouysselet white grape variety in the vineyard and revived this endemic grape variety.
Les Frontons Flingueurs is a vintage made with the Négrette grape variety harvested by hand. The grapes are partially destemmed and vatted by gravity. The vinification is natural, without oenological inputs in raw concrete vats. The vatting by infusion lasts 15 days then the wine is aged in concrete vats for 5 months .
Grape variety: 100% Négrette
