RHUM LONGUETEAU - White Rum - GENESIS - Column Brut - Batch n°4 - 73.8%
The Longueteau family arrived in Guadeloupe in 1766, but it was not until the end of the 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie , which was put up for auction following the crisis in the sugar industry. In 1895, he bought the Habitation Espérance to upgrade the estate from a sugar refinery to a distillery. Today, François Longueteau runs the Maison, the only distillery in Guadeloupe whose owner is both the farmer and the master distiller.
Its rums are made entirely from its own sugar cane. They are harvested and crushed the same day at full maturity. Following a 48-hour fermentation without additives, the juices are distilled in a 28-plate Savalle column.
The 2020 vintage is batch No. 4 of the Genesis collection. The rum is made from the crushing and fermentation of the estate's red canes (R579), and distilled at 73.8° before aging for 24 months in stainless steel vats . Bottled at its natural strength, this rum has not undergone any reduction.
