Domaine Goienetxea - Bixente Indart (South-West)

Domaine Goienetxea is located in Saint-Étienne-de-Baïgorry, in the Irouléguy appellation in the heart of the Basque Country . It was founded in 1987 by Pantxo Indart, who sold his grapes to other producers and to the cooperative winery. In 2021, Bixente Indart took over the family business after training with winemakers in Madiran, Corsica and with the Riouspeyrous family of Domaine Arretxea in Irouléguy. He created the winery and made his first winemaking that same year. The vinifications are carried out without inputs, using indigenous yeasts, and the aging is carried out in various containers: tuns, barrels, concrete vats, amphorae. Since 2002, the vines have been cultivated using organic farming .
