RUM LONGUETEAU - Out of age rum - XO - Decanter - 42%
This ageless XO Longueteau rum in carafe comes from the oldest distillery on the island still in operation.
The Longueteau family arrived in Guadeloupe in 1766. It was towards the end of the 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie. A few years later, in 1895, he then decided to acquire the Espérance estate to change the status of a sugar refinery to that of a distillery.
Today it is François Longueteau who takes care of the only distillery in Guadeloupe whose owner is both the farmer and the master distiller. Its rums are also made 100% from its own sugar cane. The juices are harvested and crushed the same day at their full maturity, following a 48-hour fermentation without antifoam, acidifiers or other additions. They are then distilled in a Savalle column with 28 trays. Bottling is exclusively carried out at the Distillerie Longueteau, Domaine du Marquisat de Sainte-Marie.
This XO Longueteau ageless rum in carafe comes from a rare blend of eaux-de-vie selected from the best old Longueteau agricultural rums.
Patiently aged in oak barrels, this bottle is made up of 70% 8-year-old rums, 20% 9-year-old rums, 10% 10-year-old rums. The result is an exceptional rum with fruity aromas elegantly highlighted by fine notes of spices such as cinnamon and vanilla.
