Domaine de la Croix 2018

Domaine de La Croix is ​​located in Beaupuy, in the Côtes du Marmandais appellation, formerly known as "Vin du Haut-Pays du Bordelais". It is a family estate that has been passed down from generation to generation for over 150 years. The vineyard covers 10 hectares, entirely planted with red grape varieties (Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Abouriou). After a conversion period that lasted three years, the estate has been certified in organic farming since 2012. This approach aims to limit human intervention to balance nature with nature, to strengthen the plant's defense against diseases: no addition of chemical fertilizers, no herbicides or synthetic insecticides, but tillage with the addition of natural products.

This cuvée is a blend of Merlot (50%), Abouriou (30%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), the age of the vines of which varies between 20 and 40 years. A pre-fermentation maceration with native yeasts is followed by punching down to promote extraction. The wine is aged for 6 months in oak barrels.
