Domaine Patrick Baudouin - Maria Juby - 50cl 2001
Domaine Patrick Baudouin has thirteen hectares of vines on the terroirs of "Black Anjou", west of Anjou, in the Loire Valley. The soil is made up of schists, sandstone, volcanic rocks from the very old Armorican bedrock. In the vineyard; certified organic farming, constant search for the best human / biotope work ratio, for a non-destructive and sustainable culture. Horse work on the whole area, trees, green building ... The range consists of Chenins de Savennières, Quarts de Chaume, dry white, semi-dry Anjous, and Côteaux du liquoreux layon, Red Anjous from Cabernets. The cellar, built in noble materials in 1910, has a neat, harmonious, and functional architecture.
The Coteaux du Layon Maria Juby is made from Chenin Blanc, the average age of the vines of which varies from 30 to 80 years. The harvest is manual and two passages are necessary to harvest roasted berries, very concentrated and with botrytis. Pressing is slow, fermentation and aging are carried out in barrels of 1 and 3 wines. The wine is then transferred to the vat until bottling. This cuvée, in tribute to the estate's founding great-grandmother, is only produced in the best vintages.
Grape variety: 100% Chenin Blanc
