Domaine OSTERTAG - Muenchberg Grand Cru - Riesling 2018

Domaine Ostertag is located in the village of Epfig, in Alsace. The Ostertag family founded the domaine in 1966. André Ostertag has modernised the winery since taking over, introducing biodynamic farming in 1998 and aging the domaine's Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc wines in oak barrels. The five vineyards are located in the villages of Epfig, Nothalten, Itterswiller, Ribeauvillé, and Albé.

This Grand Cru Muenchberg is made from a mass selection of Riesling planted by the grandfather of André Ostertag, and founder of the Domaine. The age of the vines is around 80 years old. The grapes are pressed into whole bunchesand then matured in vats for up to 18 months on lees.
