TEELING - Brabazon Cask 3 - 49.5%
Teeling Distillery is a whiskey distillery established in Dublin, in Ireland in 2015 by the Teeling Whiskey Company. The distillery was established by Jack and Stephen Teeling, whose father John Teeling had founded the monopoly-breaking Cooley Distillery in 1987. John Teeling's two sons, Jack and Stephen, worked with their father at Cooley Distillery. When it was sold to Beam Inc. (now Beam Suntory) in 2011, Jack, then Managing Director, left, while his brother stayed on for about a year. As part of the sale, the Teelings negotiated the purchase of 16,000 casks of aged whiskey. Using these stocks, Jack Teeling launched Teeling Whiskey in 2012, and was later joined in the venture by his brother Stephen.
The Brabazon Bottling Series is a limited-edition collection of unique Irish Single Malts capturing the full impact and flavour crafted through fortified wine cask maturation. For the Brabazon Bottling Series 3, Teeling has worked with a family dating back to the 18th century in the famous Jerez area of Spain who for over 300 years have specialised in the Pedro Ximénez grape. From this family winery have been sourced authentic Pedro Ximenéz Casks that have been used for near 90 years in their small bodega. These rare PX barrels were filled with Teeling Single Malt distilled in 2005 and left for over 3 years.
