WESTLAND - American Single Malt - 1st Edition - Colere - 50%
Westland Distillery is located in Seattle, in the United States of America. It was co-founded in 2010 by Matt Hofmann, the master distiller. The distillery takes its water from the Cedar River Watershed and seven varieties of malt are used to produce the whiskey. The team is also involved in the Garry Oak Restauration project, that consists in planting a 4-hectare nature preserve just outside Tacoma, Washington.
Colere First Edition is made from a unique variety of barley named Alba, which is a six-row winter barley. It is matured in only used casks to relegate the oak influence to focus the attention on the grain itself. The maturation lasted 49 monthsin second fill ISC Cooper’s Reserve (62%) and first fill ex-Bourbon (38%) casks.
