Each edition is carefully selected from the casks of Elixir Distillers originating of the six whisky producing regions in Scotland. Only casks considered to have achieved the required quality and character will be bottled under the name The Single Malts of Scotland.
The Jura Distillery is located on the Isle of Jura in the Inner Hebrides off the west coast of Scotland. The distillery was founded by Laird of Jura, Archibald Campbell in 1810. It fell into disrepair but was restored in 1884. Around 1900, it was again in disuse and dismantled. In the 1950s, two local estate owners, Robin Fletcher and Tony Riley-Smith, eager to revive the local economy, had the distillery rebuilt and expanded by architects Lothian, Barclay, Jarvis & Boys with input from the whisky and distillation expert William Delmé-Evans. The work was completed in 1963 and includes the installation of taller stills, allowing the distillery to create a diverse range of Malts. Jura is now owned by Whyte & Mackay, founded and based in Glasgow.
