MAVEM - Aguardente - 8 ans d'âge - 41%
Mavem is a Portuguese brandy created by Liliana and Tiago Rocha, fifth generation brother and sister of a family of Port and Arguardentes blending wines.
Mavem is made exclusively from young Portuguese wines, made from 8 local aromatic grape varieties, then distilled 3 times and then aged in barrels in the Tagus Valley between Lisbon and Porto, for 8 years on average. Each batch of Mavem ripens under extreme temperatures: the cold of winter slows down ripening and allows the development of floral and fruity notes. As the summer heat brings out the subtle flavours of vanilla and almond paste. This "dynamic maturation" creates a wide range of aromas.
