RHUM LONGUETEAU - Opera - Batch n°1 - 46.4%
The Longueteau family arrived in Guadeloupe in 1766, but it was not until the end of the 19th century that Louis-Philippe Henry Longueteau acquired part of the Marquisate of Sainte-Marie , put up for auction following the crisis of the sugar industry. In 1895, he bought the Habitation Espérance to develop the estate from the status of a sugar refinery to that of a distillery. Today, François Longueteau takes care of the House, the only distillery in Guadeloupe whose owner is both the farmer and the master distiller.
Its rums are entirely from its own sugar cane. They are harvested and crushed the same day at full maturity. Following a 48-hour fermentation without inputs, the juices are distilled in a Savalle column with 28 trays.
Opéra Batch 1 is the new edition of the Harmonie range, and completes the Prélude, Concerto and Symphonie editions. It consists of red cane (65%) and blue cane (35%) left to rest for 8 months in stainless steel vats after distillation. The rum is then aged for 8 years in 300 liter Cognac barrels . 1,400 bottles were produced.
