Havaldsen - Kimerud - Aquavit - 40%
The Kimerud Distillery is located in Lier, Norway . Ståle Håvaldsen Johnsen became interested in alcohol production in 2006, while traveling in the scenic mountains of Norway's west coast with his wife Barbara and stepfather, Jan Obuch, who served him a liqueur at homemade herbal base of great complexity. Ståle was thrilled with its intriguing distillation process and the potency of herbal essences. He became determined to learn more and eventually create his own spirit. After extensive testing, Ståle created his first Gin in 2014. Today, he crafts a range of award-winning small-batch craft gins and an aquavit, all distilled, stored and bottled at the Kimerud Distillery.
Håvaldsen Triple Cask Aquavit is made from potato spirit, distilling all the herbs at once (caraway, coriander, angelica, ginger root, orange and lemon) and simply adding pure mountain water after distillation. Håvaldsen was aged in three different barrels for at least 9 months: Sherry, Madeira and French oak.
