Domaine du Clos des Tourelles - Famille Perrin 2021
The Perrin family has been established in the Rhône Valley since the beginning of the 20th century. In 1909, Pierre Tramier acquired the Château de Beaucastel in Châteuneuf-du-Pape. Subsequently, his son-in-law, Pierre Perrin, followed by his son Jacques, developed Beaucastel and the vineyards he owned. Today, it is the 5th generation that operates the wine properties: Château de Beaucastel, Maison & Domaines Les Alexandrins, Domaine du Clos des Tourelles, Famille Perrin, La Vieille Ferme as well as Miraval en Provence. From 1950, they innovated by working in organic farming , then in 1974, they converted the Château de Beaucastel vineyard to biodynamics.
The Domaine du Clos des Tourelles is made up of 10 hectares of vines, planted on limestone and sandy soils.
Le Clos des Tourelles 2021 is a blend of Grenache Noir and Syrah . After the manual harvest, the harvest is put into vats in whole bunches. After a few days of maceration, fermentation begins spontaneously with native yeasts. The extraction is carried out with light punching down. The wine is aged for 18 months in oak barrels .
