Château D’ARMAILHAC 2021
Château d'Armailhac is located in Pauillac , in the Bordeaux wine region. It was classified as Fifth Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 classification. The estate was founded in 1750 under the name Mouton d'Armailhac. It was bought by Baron Philippe de Rothschild from Mouton Rothschild in 1934. Its vast outbuildings house the wine-growing equipment of the two properties. Since 1956 it has experienced an unusually high number of name changes, reflecting its links with its more prestigious neighbor, first becoming Mouton-Baron Philippe, then Mouton Baronne, and Mouton-Baronne-Philippe. It has been called Château d'Armailhac since 1989. The 70 hectare vineyard is located south of the village of Pouyalet, just next to Mouton Rothschild and close to Pontet-Canet.
Château d'Armailhac 2021 is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (63%), Merlot (22%), Cabernet Franc (13%) and Petit Verdot (2%) . After manual harvesting, the harvest is sorted and destemmed. Plot vinification is carried out in stainless steel vats. The wine is aged for 18 months in barrels : 1/3 new, 1/3 from one wine and 1/3 from two wines.
