RHUM HSE - Aged Rum - Single Cask - Vintage 2003 - 47.8%
The house The Maugée is renamed Saint-Etienne in 1863 and passes from the status of candy to that of distillery following its acquisition by Amedee Aubery in 1882, this young captain of industry then modernizes the buildings and supplies the area with energy thanks to the Lézarde river which crosses the field and still serves today to dilute the cane juice. The Hayot family (Yves and José) bought the property in 1994 after a judicial reorganization of the former owners, renovations were then undertaken in the Martinique housing classified historic monument and the column is transferred to the Simon. The Saint-Etienne brand becomes HSE (for Habitation Saint-Etienne).
A rum of the 2003 vintage that was distilled and then aged in 2003 before being bottled in 2018. This Single Cask HSE follows the wine so plebiscated Single Cask 1998. True witness of the know-how of the Master of Chai HSE, it presents a nice balance between power, roundness and aromatic density. Each batch is bottled from a 400l drum and the follow-up is carefully done with a double numbering of the bottles.
